A System Brought Out by GRIT (Perseverance) - For Those Life Athletes who Challenge to Live –

 

Abstract:

No matter how good exercise is, doing it for one time only is meaningless. Making it a habit leads to “Exercise for total health”. People cannot keep working hard for him or herself. Therefore, it is the key to this habituation to create a community or have friends who work out with. Recognizing and accepting one another, and evolving while enjoying the process itself... People can get “a bigger thing” (a system that allows them to keep on going) if athletic trainers and therapists can give what we have learned. Total health support has been made possible only by ATs because ATs are experts in preventive medicine and connect people with one another. This includes not only physical training but also a new way of working, human resource development and team building as well as mental care. Ideas to create “positive attitude” and “systems to move” for those athletes who are overcoming their age and handicaps and challenging to live. By “letting go” you can gain unlimited potential and system to keep going. Based on my experience, I present a new way of working that is made possible by trustworthy leaders and colleagues.

 

 

Background:

Atsuko Takatani went to the U.S. in 2005 and got certified as an athletic trainer by BOC in 2009. She got clinical experience in a collegiate setting as a graduate assistant. After going through the internship program with the EXOS (formerly Athletes Performance) in 2008, she established herself as a “performance therapist”, later contributing to creating a support system for collegiate athletes at Chukyo University CISP (Chukyo University Institute of Sports Performance), Aichi in Japan since 2013. Currently she trains variety of athletes such as 400mH, Paralympic track & field sprint and Toyota Motor Corporation short-track speed skating team. From 2017, she moved back to her hometown Tokyo, and now belongs to a group training gym, GRIT NATION INC, Tokyo, Japan. Her training philosophy focuses on improving athletes’ “movement and sensations”. At GRIT NATION, she is in charge of the movement-based training program and internal education.
